The Kalibo International Airport is a fast-growing airport serving Kalibo city and the surrounding province of Aklan. This airport is the busiest in the Western Visayas and one of the busiest airports in the Philippines with more than 1.8 million passengers per year, most of them tourists visiting Boracay.
This airport is one of the two main gateways to this beautiful island, together with Caticlan Airport in Malay. Although the jetty port of Caticlan is almost 70km away, many people who visit Boracay choose to fly to Kalibo due to the better connections and cheaper tickets. International destinations are Taipei, Seoul, several cities in China, Singapore, Hong Kong and Kuala Lumpur. Destinations within the Philippines are limited to Manila and Cebu.
Kalibo International Airport is located about three kilometers south from the Kalibo center and about 70 km from the Caticlan Jetty Port.
To Kalibo: If your destination is Kalibo best to use a tricycle which are waiting outside the arrivals hall for around PHP 20.
To Boracay: The best way to get to Boracay is by using one of the many minivans that are waiting in front of the terminal. As most people are heading to Boracay you can just follow the crowd. A bus ticket to the jetty would cost around PHP 250-300 and should always include the ferry ticket for going to Boracay (please be aware that it does not included the environmental and other fees payable at the jetty). The minivans will leave when full so make sure you not hang around after landing but get outside as quickly as possible. Expect a journey time of about 90 minutes to the jetty.
