The new Mathilda Batlayeri Airport is a small domestic airport serving Saumlaki on Tanimbar Islands in Maluku. The airport replaced the old Olilit Airport in 2014.
The airport is named after Mathilda Batlayeri, a heroine originating from Tanimbar Islands who died in 1953 while fighting the Darul Islam rebel movement in South Kalimantan.
Mathilda Batlayeri Airport is not a large airport so there are not many flights departing here. There are only a few destinations that you can reach from Mathilda Batlayeri Airport, most of these are operated by Wings Air. Many people take a flight to Ambon and transfer to another flight there.
