Of the three previous terminals only terminal 3 is currently being used for handling passengers. In 2007 a plan was announced to transform Terminal 3 into a modern general and corporate aviation hub. A new plan is to refurbish Terminal 2 which would double capacity to 5 million passengers a year. Construction for this project started in 2013.
Subang Airport is much closer to KL than KLIA and can therefore be a convenient option. Subang Airport is located just 20 km east of Bukit Bintang, in central Kuala Lumpur. Without traffic it would take a taxi 30 minutes.
Rapid KL bus 772 (fare RM 2.00) passes the airport and runs to Pasar Seni LRT station. The bus stop is 200m from the terminal in front of MAS complex A: exit Terminal 3 and turn left. The bus ride can take 40 minutes up to 1,5 hour depending on traffic.
Since 2014 there is also a Shuttle Bus operating between the Subang Airport and KL Sentral (RM 8.20) and Pudu Sentral (RM 9.30).
Taxis wait outside Terminal 3, expect to pay RM 100 to RM 120 for a trip into Kuala Lumpur.
