Indonesia's national airline, Garuda Indonesia, announced the launch of a dedicated service for passengers travelling from Singapore to Jakarta. The airline will also add a 10th daily flight between Singapore and Jakarta starting 3 December 2014, making it a frequency leader for this route.
The route will be serviced by a fleet of technologically-advanced Boeing 737-800 and Airbus A330-200 aircraft. The airline has also localized elements of the signature Garuda Indonesia on-board experience including in-flight meals customised to suit the local palate such as Ayam Panggang (Grilled Turmeric Chicken) and Bumbu Rojak (Asian Spicy Salad) for Business Class and Chicken Dum Briyani for Economy Class passengers.
At Soekarna-Hatta International Airport in Jakarta, there will be a preferred baggage handling service and a dedicated belt for passengers arriving from Singapore. In addition, all passengers from Singapore will have access to the Emerald Sky Lounge when travelling onwards to domestic destinations with a transit time of three hours or more.
