The Moranbah Airport, 6km south of the town of Moranbah serves the coal mining city Moranbah and is operated by BMA Coal Operations Pty Ltd, a mining company. Both Qantas and Virgin Australia use turboprop aircraft for flights to Brisbane. Although the main terminal building was renovated a few years ago, facilities at this airport are still limited so be aware that a cafe or ATM is not available.
Public transport at Moranbah airport is not available but taxis are waiting outside the terminal or, alternatively, car rental (Budget, Hertz, and Avis) is available as well.
