The Moranbah Airport, 6km south of the town of Moranbah serves the coal mining city Moranbah and is operated by BMA Coal Operations Pty Ltd, a mining company. Both Qantas and Virgin Australia use turboprop aircraft for flights to Brisbane. Although the main terminal building was renovated a few years ago, facilities at this airport are still limited so be aware that a cafe or ATM is not available.
Moranbah Airport is not a large airport so there are not many flights departing here. There are only a few destinations that you can reach from Moranbah Airport, most of these are operated by Qantas. Many people take a flight to Brisbane and transfer to another flight there.
