Jalaluddin Airport (GTO) is an airport near Gorontalo in the north of Sulawesi. Since the upgrade of the airport in 2016 the airport is a gateway for flights to north Indonesia.
The Gorontalo Airport is named after Djalaluddin Tantu, a Colonol Pilot from Gorontalo who died on a mission in Malaysia in 1964.
Jalaluddin Airport is not a large airport so there are not many flights departing here. There are only a few destinations that you can reach from Jalaluddin Airport, most of these are operated by Lion Air. Many people take a flight to Makassar and transfer to another flight there.
The Jalaluddin Airport has one runway and one, new passenger terminal, which was opened in May 2016. The new terminal has two floors: the ground floor is for check-in and baggage claim, while the second floor is where the waiting rooms are located.
The Jalaluddin airport is located 30 km to the west of Gorontalo, on the Trans Sulawesi Road.
DAMRI operates an airport shuttle busdeparting several times a day after a plane has landed. One-way ticket is Rp. 30.000 and the ride takes about a half hour.
