The Chongqing Jiangbei International Airport is located 21 km north of the Chongqing city centre and is an important gateway for destinations in southwestern China and a major hub for China Express Airlines, China Southern and others.
With well over 25 million passengers the Jiangbei Airport is the ninth busiest in China. The airport has two terminals, an international one (Terminal 1) and a domestic one (Terminal 2).
The airport is mostly used for domestic flights but recently many international destinations were added as well, most of them in the Asian region. Currently well over 40 airlines fly to Chongqing.

Jiangbei Airport offers many transport options for getting into Chongqing.
Shuttle buses into the city are available outside Terminal 2 (domestic) and leave every half hour with stops at the Jiazhou bus station, Waimoa Dasha and terminates at Shangqing Si. Ticket fare is RMB 15 for one-way.
Buses to nearby cities and municipalities can be found between Hall A and B of terminal 2 with fares varying between RMB 50 to 120 depending the distance.
The airport is connected to the Congqing metro system by Line 3 which runs from terminal 2 to Yudong Station for RMB 7.

Taxis are waiting outside the arrival hall of both terminals. A trip to downtown Chongqing will cost around RMB 60 to 80, but expect to pay more at night.
