Stuttgart Airport is with over 10 million passengers a year the sixth-busiest airport in Germany. Stuttgart airport is an important hub for Air Berlin and Eurowings and mostly has flights to destinations within Europe.
Stuttgart Airport is not a large airport so there are not many flights departing here. There are only a few destinations that you can reach from Stuttgart Airport, most of these are operated by Eurowings. Many people take a flight to Tenerife and transfer to another flight there.
Stuttgart Airport has a single runway and four passenger terminals, but which are connected on the airside part (after customs). So the four different terminals are mainly just different check-in areas. Terminal 1 is mainly used by Lufthansa and Germanwings, which also uses the small Terminal 2.
Terminal 3 is used by Air Berlin, KLM, TUIfly and most other airlines. Terminal 4 is mostly used for charter flights.
Stuttgart Airport is a large international airport 15 km south of Stuttgart city center.
The best way to get into Stuttgart is by the S-Bahn (commuter rail). The S-Bahn station has the name Flughaven and is located in Terminal 1, on Level 1. Train lines S2 and S3 will bring you within an half hour to Stuttgart central station (Hauptbahnhof). Tickets can be bought at the vending machines and need to be validated with a time stamp at the orange boxes on the platform; a one-way ticket costs 4 euro.

A taxi into the city will cost about 35 euro and will take more or less an half hour.
