Oslo Airport (OSL)

Oslo

Oslo Airport, also called Gandermoen Airport to distinguish it from other airports in Oslo, is the main airport serving Oslo, the capital of Norway. Oslo Airport is the largest airport in Norway and one of the few in the world with a high-speed rail connection (max 210 km/h) and is thanks to that the airport with the largest percentage of passengers using public transport in the world (70%).
The Airport opened in 1998 at Gandermoen at a cost of over a billion euro, after a decades-long debate how to deal with the congestion at Fornebu Airport. Since the opening at Gandermoen the airport has experienced serious problems with frozen fog and super-cooled rain in winter months, sometimes causing damage to aircraft engines and emergency landings.

How many runways and passenger terminals does Oslo Airport have?

The Airport has one terminal with domestic gates on the western side and international gates in the east. The customs procedures for transfers from an international to domestic flight (and vice versa) are time-consuming and a hassle: you would need to get your checked baggage first, pass customs and check your baggage back in to your connecting flight.
